Compensation Can Get Complicated

Both the originator of the call and the terminator of the call are entitled to compensation. In some cases there is more that one entity providing the service to the customer. In the case of CLECs, there may be a hand-off to the Bell tandem. In this case both the CLEC and the Bell Company require compensation. This type of service is more complex for the long distance company to validate, as it probably will receive separate bills from the Bell and the CLEC that are billed at different times of the month and aggregated onto bills for different service areas.
